ABOUT RIDGE CREST ELEMENTARY
Dear Ridge Crest Families,
I love being the principal at Ridge Crest Elementary. I feel very blessed to live and work in this wonderful community. Last year our students, staff, and parents showed great resilience in dealing with the mitigation efforts implemented to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19. That resilience paid off with our students accomplishing great things academically. During this unprecedented time our staff remains committed to doing everything we can to maintain Ridge Crest Elementary’s longstanding reputation of being an amazing school. I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue building on that tradition of excellence.
In today’s world, more information and technology is being produced and made available to us than could possibly be covered or taught. Our students need to be equipped with the ability to be continuous learners and problem solvers. School also needs to be engaging, safe, and fun. All children have the ability to learn, but they do not all learn the same way. That is why at Ridge Crest our staff prepares lessons, activities, procedures, interventions, and enrichment activities that allow our students to have opportunities to learn in many different ways.
At Ridge Crest Elementary our mission is to form a partnership with students, parents, staff, and community to create an atmosphere where students will gain confidence, knowledge, and wisdom; develop physically and socially; and value learning for life, in a safe environment.
We are the home of the Soaring Eagles. We work hard to help students learn how to be successful in school and life by following the traits in our acronym S.O.A.R. (Safe, Orderly, Accountable, Respectful). As students learn how to be safe, orderly, accountable, and respectful they develop lifelong skills that help them be successful socially, physically, and academically. Along with teaching students to S.O.A.R. we teach them to be HEROs (Help Encourage and Respect Other).
At Ridge Crest we want to create the most positive and successful school experience possible, but this can only be accomplished through collaboration with staff, students, parents, and the community. As part of that collaboration Ridge Crest has a great PTA (Parent Teacher Association) that continues to make a huge difference in our school’s success. If you have time I would encourage you to get involved with the PTA and as a school volunteer. With your help we can make Ridge Crest an even better place for our students. I believe that we can truly make it the best school in Idaho. If you have questions or want to get involved, please do not hesitate to call 208-785-8894.
